The Cabinet of Ministers has earmarked UAH 8.8 billion from the State Budget reserve fund to finance compensation to citizens for destroyed housing. The funds will be directed to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development to finance housing certificates under the eVidnovlennia programme. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant decision at its meeting on December 23.
As of December 18, the need for financing compensation for destroyed housing amounted to UAH 8.8 billion, equivalent to 6,278 housing certificates. The decision ensures the financing of these certificates and the payment of compensation to citizens who have lost their homes as a result of the war.
“Providing compensation to citizens for housing destroyed as a result of the war is a direct responsibility of the state. We must provide funding for housing certificates that have already been issued and support people who have lost their homes due to the armed aggression of the russian federation,” said Vitalii Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
