Ukrzaliznytsia will receive grant assistance totaling 54 million euros.
Such a joint project with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was announced and signed at the transport roundtable as part of the URC2025 Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.
In particular, 41 million euros of this amount will be allocated to the development and provision of generation, 10 million euros to barrier-free projects at stations and 3 million euros to support veteran railway workers.
It was previously reported that the European Commission had selected 94 transport projects to receive almost 2.8 billion euros in EU grants under the Cohesion Fund (CEF). Ukraine will receive part of the funding. Thus, the European Union decided to allocate 76 million euros in grant aid for the implementation of the first stage of the construction of the Eurorail in Ukraine.
It also became known that Ukrzaliznytsia completed the modernization of the first barrier-free car, fully adapted for the travel of passengers in wheelchairs. (Minprom)
