20 Ukrainians aged under 25 have won the youth component of the Vlasna Sprava grant program following the results of the 2025 eighth wave. They will receive UAH 3 million to start their businesses. In total, 280 young entrepreneurs have received a positive decision to receive grants since the program was launched. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Already 280 young Ukrainians have become winners of the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) grant program and will be granted the sum totalling UAH 40 million to start their business. For most of them, this is the first step in entrepreneurship, and we are helping them to overcome barriers on this path. With the grant money, the young people plan to implement business projects in a variety of areas. In particular, the winners of the eighth wave received grants to open a coffee shop, a beauty salon, an interior design studio, a garden center and plan to make cabinet furniture and provide legal services,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
Most of the grantees of the eighth wave of the program in 2025 are young people from Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Poltava, Chernivtsi regions and the city of Kyiv. Among them, 60% are women and 40% are men.
As a reminder, under the terms of the Vlasna Sprava grant program for young people, Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 can apply for a microgrant of up to UAH 150,000 to start a business. An applicant must register as an individual entrepreneur after receiving a positive decision on the grant. They are not required to create jobs.
Within three years, the entrepreneur must repay the grant amount in the form of taxes and fees paid to the budget in the course of business activities. After that, he or she can receive another grant from the state – under the Vlasna Sprava program on general terms in the amount of up to UAH 250,000 and an obligation to create at least 2 jobs.
The grant funds can be spent on the purchase or leasing of equipment, purchase of raw materials and supplies, and rental of premises. Applications for grants are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. The program is administered by the State Employment Service.
The program of providing grants to young people to start their own business is part of the flagship project of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine “Work without Barriers”, which is being implemented to pursue the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
