In Ukraine, the protection of second-level energy facilities, which are being worked on by the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, is almost 90% completed, the head of the agency Serhii Sukhomlyn has announced.
He noted that the agency was working on the protection of 22 substations, and about 46 second-level protection elements had been installed at these substations. Additionally, the installation of 22 third-level protection elements for the same substations is ongoing.
“Protection of second-level facilities is nearly 90% completed. As for the protection of third-level energy facilities from missiles, it is worth noting that last year, 62 missile and Shakhed drone strikes were recorded on those facilities being secured by the agency. And not a single transformer was damaged by the enemy,” Sukhomlyn emphasized.
According to him, only two billion UAH has been allocated for second- and third-level protection projects, but these facilities are very expensive, so the agency is simultaneously working on reducing project costs.
Currently, government acts are being prepared, the adoption of which will help partially settle accounts with contractors for previously completed work. (Ukrinform)
