The Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has signed the first contract for the purchase of ammunition for funds raised through the UNITED24 fundraising platform. The agreement provides for supplies worth UAH 47 million.
“This is an important step in strengthening the defence capability of our army through new sources of funding. We will continue to work on providing our military with ammunition to effectively perform combat missions,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
In May, the Government allowed to transfer funds to the Ministry of Defence procurement agencies from the special account for support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened for voluntary contributions through UNITED24.
Funds may be transferred to the agencies for defence procurement upon approval of the Ministry of Defence.
“We are grateful to our compatriots and citizens of the democratic world for their donations through the UNITED24 fundraising platform. For our part, we have the capacity to procure ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Maryna Bezrukova, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.
The UNITED24 fundraising platform, created at the initiative of the President of Ukraine, aims to unite the efforts of the international community to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and sovereignty. Through this platform, people from all over the world can contribute to support Ukraine and its Defence Forces. (Government portal)
