The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has established a Donor Council for Institutional Reforms to create a “single window” for effective and transparent communication with partner countries that support transformation processes.
“The Donor Council will help us simplify communication with partners through regular updates on the progress of reforms and will become a transparent mechanism for requesting donor support for the Ministry’s reform projects,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stanislav Haider.
The Donor Council will use the following types of support: expert assistance, logistical support, preparation of expert proposals, opinions, analytical materials on state policy in the defence sector, as well as consultations on interoperability with NATO.
The Council’s activities will not affect the mechanism for attracting international military assistance, which operates within the framework of the Ramstein Contact Group or other platforms.
During the first meeting of the Council, the Ministry presented the progress of transformation processes in the Ministry of Defence and informed about the next steps planned in areas that will require the support of partners.
The Donor Council for Institutional Reforms includes representatives of more than 20 countries and organisations, including defence attaches, diplomatic representatives of partner countries and international defence organisations operating in Ukraine. (Government portal)
