Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with representatives of the Federation of Austrian Industry headed by its President Georg Knill. The meeting took place in Vienna, where the delegation of the Ministry of Energy was attending a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors.
Georg Knill noted that Ukrainian and Austrian businesses had long-standing and close ties and the Austrian side was interested in deepening them in the process of recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.
German Galushchenko, in turn, emphasized the prospects for deepening cooperation in the areas of renewable energy development, increasing distributed generation capacit, and restoring and modernizing grids.
“We will rebuild the Ukrainian energy sector using the latest technologies, introducing advanced systems that will enhance the sustainability and flexibility of our energy system. We have to prepare specific cooperation projects today to start implementing them the day after our victory,” he said.
The Minister of Energy emphasized that last year the Energy Strategy of Ukraine had been approved, which defined the key tasks of reconstruction: the development of “green” and nuclear energy and decentralization of generation.
During the meeting the parties emphasized their interest in cooperation in hydrogen industry. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
