The negotiations held by the National Health Insurances Company (CNAM) on cutting maximal prices for the compensated medicines and medical devices in 2023 generated savings in the mandatory health insurances accounts in an amount of 34 million lei, of which 33 million lei for compensated medicines.
According to CNAM, the discussions held with the producers and providers on the medicines and devices included in 2023 in the list resulted in cuttings of prices by an average of 19% for medicines and by 24% for medical devices.
The list of the compensated ones contains 64 commercial denominations of medicines and 57 models of medical devices. For these positions, the producers and providers provided guarantees of negotiated price and hold contracts with CNAM for the provision to drug stores at low price and issuance of the concerned products based on the compensated recipes.
The patients also spent less for the partially compensated medicines and medical devices, which had capped prices. The overall volume of expenses to this end was cut by 17 million lei for all positions of medicines on the list. The money saved was used for extending the list with new positions of medicines.
Starting from 2022, according to a procedure approved by the government, CNAM has been negotiating with producers and providers the purchasing prices for all medicines and medical devices included for compensation from the mandatory health insurances accounts. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
