Under the close coordination of the Ministry of Energy, JSC Kharkivoblenergo received important special equipment – truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 18 tons, purchased at the expense of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
“Kharkiv region is one of the regions where energy facilities are targeted by the enemy every day. However, local power engineers continue restoration work despite all the risks. And this equipment will help them to be even more efficient,” said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
The truck cranes are indispensable for the installation of power line poles and the replacement of high-voltage transformers.
In January, Kharkiv power engineers also received ten units of specialised equipment with lifting heights of 18, 23 and 34 metres as part of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Several more deliveries are expected in February.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in the spring of 2022 at the joint initiative of Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. The Fund is operated by the Energy Community Secretariat.
Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy has been operating a Working Group on the organisation of humanitarian aid in the energy sector, which processes requests from fuel and energy companies to purchase the necessary energy equipment, machinery and fuel. Equipment purchases are made by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at the expense of the Fund in accordance with international transparency standards.
