As part of the 3rd German-Ukrainian Energy Day in Berlin, German Galushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, met with representatives of the German business community. The meeting was attended by representatives of Notus energy, OA, Siemens Energy LLC, Schneider Group, Andritz Hydro, Uniper SE, 50 Hertz and others.
“We are grateful to the German government and German private companies for their contribution to the reconstruction of Ukraine’s energy sector. The energy equipment you have provided will help repair energy facilities damaged by enemy attacks and bring light and heat back to the homes of Ukrainian consumers,” the Minister said.
German Galushchenko noted that the Ukraine Energy Support Fund was an effective tool for providing assistance. Not only the state but also private companies and organisations can contribute to it. The money accumulated in the Fund will be used to purchase equipment and facilities for the needs of Ukrainian energy companies.
The minister also outlined the key areas of cooperation with the German side in the process of restoration and reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy sector. He emphasised that the recovery would take place in line with the objectives set out in Ukraine’s energy strategy until 2050 and would be based on the development of renewable and nuclear energy with a focus on decentralisation of power generation.
German Galushchenko underlined the need to start preparing cooperation projects in the relevant sectors today so that they could be implemented as soon as the security situation allowed. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
