One of the biggest low-cost companies of Europe, Air Baltic, will launch the Chisinau-Riga flight starting from 2024, Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba has announced.
The official said the tickets for the Chisinau-Riga flight would be available as early as this week.
“Air Baltic launches the Chisinau-Riga starting from 2024. The tickets will be available this week already. Air Baltic is one of the biggest low-costers in Europe. We continue the discussions with the others as well! There is room at the airport,” Dumitru Alaiba said.
The authorities have earlier said that discussions were taking place with more air companies on the making of flights from the Chisinau International Airport. In early August, three air companies informed that they launched direct flights to Chisinau. They are Southwind Airlines, Israir and Azerbaidjan Airlines – AZAL.
According to the statistics data presented by the airport’s administration, the overall number of passengers serviced during the first seven months of this year reached 1.5 million people, up by 51.1% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
