The Georgian Government has developed a strategy with large investments in renewable energy, including solar and wind energies, and a plan to use “this cheap energy” and the “strategically important” location of the country, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said at a panel discussion Eurasia’s Middle Corridor: From Pathway to Highway within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
In his address Garibashvili highlighted that Georgia had “one of the best” business environments and was ranked in the top ten easiest countries for doing business, in the top 20 in economic freedom and in “many other rankings”, the Government Administration said.
He noted the country had four free industrial and economic zones, which was a “rare opportunity” for foreign companies to invest and create enterprises in Georgia, as well as in Azerbaijan.
The Head of the Government also said the so-called roadmap was signed by Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, in Aktau in November 2022, for the development of the Middle Corridor for 2022-2027, which would help the countries to agree on the next steps. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
