Georgia’s agricultural products have been showcased at the Saudi Agriculture International Trade Exhibition for the first time, the Agriculture Ministry reports.
The state body said visitors had the opportunity to learn about 10 Georgian companies producing agricultural products, including honey, mineral water, natural fruit juice, spices, olive oil and sour plum sauce.
“Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing economies with a population of 36 million and a significant dependence on imports of agro products,” Vakhtang Jaoshvili, the Georgian ambassador to the country, said.
“Georgian products are already represented in the local trade network. However, I think the participation of Georgian companies in such large-scale exhibitions will promote them and facilitate growth of exports not only to Saudi Arabia but also in the whole Middle East region,” he added.
