Ukraine expects the West to supply it with more artillery, aircraft and air-launched missiles, as it needs at least twice as many heavy weapons as it receives now, Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the Ukrainian president’s office, has said in Vilnius.
“To win against Russia, there’s just one condition, which is twice the amount of heavy weapons you give us, and that’s enough for us and for you – we’ll win this war,” he said at a conference marking the 508th anniversary of the Battle of Orsha.
The adviser noted that Russia’s artillery capacity was at least three times that of Ukraine’s, adding that Kyiv expected quick decisions from Western countries at the meeting of officials from countries providing military support to Ukraine.
“I hope that in Ramstein, there will be something about this, about twice the quantity of the weapons we need. It could be air defence; it could be planes. We need planes. We have a very successful experience using anti-radar rockets HARM from our planes,” he said.
According to Arestovych, some 300,000 Ukrainian troops are fighting the Russian invasion. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
