For this season traders from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are interested to buy apples, for next year they would also like to purchase cherries and in the future – Moldovan grapes. A representative of a fruit importing company for the UAE and neighboring countries made the statement. He visited Moldova Fruct last week, following an invitation of the Association and the project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) High-Value Agriculture in Moldova.
The company representative came to collect facts about the assortment of varieties, discussions with potential suppliers on transactional aspects.
“The main requirements expressed by the buyer for Moldovan apples are: Gala variety – intense red color, other varieties of sweet red apples, green apples – Granny Smith, Golden,” Moldova Fruit Association said.
Moldova Fruit had first discussions with the representatives of the company in November 2021, during a mission in the United Arab Emirates and later at the Fruit Logistica 2022 exhibition in Berlin, Germany. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
