On August 1-7, the Customs Service collected over 695.1 million lei (about 34.7 million euros) from the state budget, 17% more than the budgetary burden established for this period.
According to the Customs Service, natural persons brought goods with the value in customs exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 19 million lei were collected, or 2.7% of the total amount collected during this period. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Also, during the past week, 10,549 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 90,307 crossings.
As regards combating fraud, during this period 57 violations of customs legislation were found and fines in the amount of over 151 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected 19 billion lei from the state budget, up by 22.2% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
