The Customs Service (SV) collected over 738.7 million lei (36.9 million euros) on June 27 – July 3, up by 18.4% from the target.
According to SV, private people imported goods, the value of which in customs exceeded over 15 million lei, which accounted for 2% of the overall sum collected. The money collected from taxpayers is transferred directly to the state budget and redistributed for salaries, developing infrastructure, social projects, etc.
Decision-makers processed 11,405 customs declarations and the flow of transport means stood at about 75,000 crossings.
As for combating frauds, decision-makers found out 68 infringements of the customs legislation and fines worth over 227,000 lei were imposed. In June, customs employees ascertained 409 infringements of the customs legislation and imposed fines exceeding 1.4 million lei.
Since early 2022, the Customs Service has collected 15.7 billion lei to the state budget, up by 24.3% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
