Ukraine will receive 330 million euros from the European Union under the emergency assistance program. These funds are intended to support the population affected by Russia’s war against Ukraine and will facilitate strengthening the country’s resilience.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna and Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Katarina Maternova.
“The emergency assistance package is an important step to support Ukrainians amid the war. We unite efforts to alleviate the suffering of Ukrainian citizens and strengthen Ukraine’s resilience to resisting the full-scale war unleashed by Russia,” Stefanishyna commented.
In particular, the funds are intended to support internally displaced persons, small farms, civil society and the media, restore civilian and transport infrastructure, increase energy sustainability, including strengthening security and restoring energy infrastructure, energy supply and reserves.
These funds are disbursed from the EU budget in accordance with the Neighborhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
