The electronics industry is a fundamental sector in the world and an opportunity for the Republic of Moldova, and the Ministry of Economy supports and develops policies to develop this sector. The statement was made by the minister Sergiu Gaibu at the first edition of the Moldova Electronics Forum event.
The forum aims to discover the capabilities and potential of the electronics industry in the Republic of Moldova, to get to know the specialists who bring positive changes in the field, as well as the global trends in electronics.
“The electronics industry is a promising one. Internationally, it has become the most attractive for investment. At the national level we also have perspectives and there is the Technical University of Moldova, which trains specialists in the field, but we also have companies that demonstrate special skills. The Ministry of Economy is involved in the development of policies and actions to stimulate the sustainable growth of the domestic electronics industry, by improving the quality infrastructure and diversifying exports; initiating the procedure for revising the tariff policy for the import of raw materials; but also by identifying investment platforms,” he said.
In the Republic of Moldova, the electronics industry is represented by about 50 companies producing hardware and software, electronic components and devices, smart meters. The electronics industry is one of the defining sectors for global economic growth, with an impact of 4.6 trillion euros, a result recorded in 2019.
Moldova Electronics Forum is an event organized by the Investment Agency and brings together national and international representatives of the electronics industry, decision makers and local companies, to present and highlight the potential of the industry in the Republic of Moldova.
