Terminals located at the Ventspils seaport handled 3.966 million tons of freight in the first three months of 2022, up by 10.6% YoY, according to information from Latvia’s Ministry of Transport.
In Q1, a total of 2.957 million tons of freight was sent from Ventspils sea port, up by 2.8%. The volume of received freight has increased by 42.2%, reaching 1.009 million tons.
In the first three months of 2022, Ventspils seaport terminals handled 1.65 million tons of bulk freight, up 2.6-fold, as well as 1.597 million tons of liquid freight, down by 30.8%, and 719 800 tons of general freight, up by 13.1%.
Terminals of Ventspils seaport also handled 1.443 million tons of petroleum products, down by 33.8%. The volume of coal handled by terminals was 1.22 million tons (no coal was handled in the first three months of 2021). The volume of Ro-Ro (roll on/roll off) freight handled by terminals in Ventspils was 590,000 tons, up by 6.1%.
In total, Ventspils seaport’s terminals handled 11.081 million tons of freight last year, down by 14.1% YoY. 3.585 million tons of freight was handled in the first three months.
