Over 32,500 households received 1,000 lei each as one-off aid offered by the European Union. A total of 40,000 households will get it in response to the energy crisis.
Distribution of support to vulnerable groups is done through the non-governmental organization People in Need Moldova and with the involvement of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The money is sent to the beneficiaries through Moldovan Post Office.
The selection of the 40,000 households was made by People in Need Moldova, based on vulnerability criteria, applied to a list of over 420,000 households, eligible for various government social assistance programs.
Informing families and households that they have been selected for the project takes place by registered letters. Vulnerable persons, who have received or will receive such letters, can withdraw the money, based on the identity card, from the nearest post office, until March 31.
The financial support is provided within the limits of the project “Together we support the vulnerable population affected by the energy crisis”, on the component intended for vulnerable households. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
