In five months Latvia produced 20.242 million liters of alcoholic beverages, excluding beer. Compared to the five months of 2020, this is 0.4% more, according to data on excise goods compiled by the State Revenue Service.
A drop in production volumes is observed for intermediate products containing less than 15% of alcohol – by 39.6%. For wine the drop was 26.1% and for intermediate products containing more than 15% of alcohol and under 22% the drop was 1.5%.
An increase is observed in the production of fermented alcoholic beverages with alcohol concentration under 6% – 45.9%. In fermented beverages with alcohol concentration above 6% the increase was 29.3%. For all other alcoholic beverages the increase was 0.2%.
Looking at production output absolute alcohol concentration-wise, production volumes have dropped by 6.2%.
As previously reported, in 2020 Latvia produced 50.863 million liters of alcoholic beverages, except for beer, down by 8%. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
