Ukraine will launch its first pilot hydrogen projects in 2022.
“Relevant agencies are currently drafting the Hydrogen Strategy of Ukraine. We continue to work extensively to assess the feasibility of using our gas transmission system to transport hydrogen to EU countries. Ukraine will start its first pilot hydrogen projects next year,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said.
As noted, Ukraine has a huge potential in the production of a new type of energy, which convinces the European Union to recognize it as a priority partner in the hydrogen strategy for a climate-neutral Europe until 2050.
The minister also believes that renewable energy sources are becoming an increasingly important element of Ukraine’s energy independence.
“We have an ambitious goal of decarbonizing energy, industry and transport which complements our broader strategy of integration into the EU. A part of this strategy is the development of the use of green hydrogen,” the foreign minister stressed. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
