The average nominal salary of Ukrainians in December 2020 was 15.6% higher than the one they received in December 2019 and amounted to UAH 14,179, the State Statistics Service reported.
The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in December 2020 amounted to UAH 14,179, which was 2.8 times higher than the level of the minimum wage (UAH 5,000). Compared to November 2020, the average nominal salary in December 2020 rose by 18.3%.
The highest average nominal salary last month was recorded in the field of financial and insurance activities – UAH 22,843 (+2.9% YoY). In the second place was the sphere of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance (UAH 22,637, +11.2%) and in third place – the information and telecommunications industry (UAH 22,606, +15.1%).
The lowest average nominal salaries in December 2020 were recorded in the areas of temporary accommodation and catering (UAH 6,838, -6.1%), real estate transactions (UAH 10,430, +3.3%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (UAH 10,841, +15.2%).
According to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in Ukraine in December 2019 amounted to UAH 12,264, up by 16% YoY. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
