Ukraine expects to receive UAH 7.5 billion of legal revenues from the gambling business in 2021, Danylo Hetmantsev, an MP from the Servant of the People faction and head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, has said.
“The receipt of these funds is envisaged in the state budget of Ukraine for 2021. This is an income from fees for licenses to conduct activities related to the organization and conduct of gambling and licenses for the issuance and conduct of lotteries,” he said.
Hetmantsev also praised the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada in 2020 of a law that legalized the gambling business in Ukraine.
As reported, on July 14, the Ukrainian parliament approved bill No.2285-d “On state regulation of activities related to the organization and conduct of gambling”.
On August 11, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law and put it into effect. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
