The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is currently drafting the aviation strategy and plans to complete it until the end of autumn.
“Now we are working on aviation strategy. Soon we will start to promote this process very actively with large consulting companies. I think that by the end of autumn we will have the final product – with details, numbers, understanding, with all KPIs – and will be able to synchronize processes,” Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii said.
Commenting on President Zelensky’s words about the need to create a state-owned airline in Ukraine, which would use aircraft of domestic production, Kryklii noted that this issue should be considered in the context of aviation strategy.
“The airline itself is probably not interesting. But a carrier, which has links with airports, hubs and develops a transit model, is becoming more interesting,” he said.
According to the minister, it would also be interesting if such an airline operated domestic flights and made Antonov design bureau fully occupied with orders.
Kryklii stressed that Antonov should be taken to a new level, as now the enterprise “produces little” and was mainly engaged in cargo-carrying operations. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
