JSC Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s state-owned postal operator, paid UAH 202.7 million in dividends for 2019, or 50% of the net profit of the joint-stock company for last year, according to Ukrposhta’s press service.
The company stresses that this is the largest amount of contributions paid to the state budget since Ukrposhta’s establishment.
“For the first time in the company’s history, the national postal operator paid a record amount of dividends to the state – UAH 202.7 million for 2019, it also paid UAH 36.5 million in advance payment of income tax for 2020,” said Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi.
He stressed that the company continued to implement a large-scale investment program in 2020: to repair and automate branches, improve the technical base for better customer service, introduce mobile teams in villages.
In 2019, Ukrposhta posted UAH 405.4 million (after taxes) in net profit in 2019. In total, the company transferred UAH 2.5 billion in taxes to the state budget in 2019. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
