Milk production in Ukraine decreased by 3.6% YoY in January-May, according to the State Statistics Service.
In particular, milk output amounted to 3.64 million tons, including 1.15 million tons produced by agricultural enterprises (-1.2%) and 2.49 million tons by private households (-4.7%).
The highest volumes of milk production over the reporting period were recorded in Poltava region – 292.3 thousand tons (-3.8%), Vinnytsia region – 288.1 thousand tons (-4.3%) and Khmelnytskyi region – 251.7 thousand tons (+0.8%).
The lowest volumes of milk production were recorded in Luhansk region – 39.1 thousand tons (-6%), Donetsk region – 59.5 thousand tons (-12.9%) and Zaporizhzhia region – 81.7 thousand tons (-7.3%). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
