Freight volume handled in the Port of Liepaja in January-April fell by 22.7% YoY, to 2,169,600 tons.
In the reporting period, transshipment of grain dropped by 2.2%, to 903,600 tons, anthracite – 5-fold, to 109,200 tons, and construction materials – by 2.9%, to 271,900 tons, while transshipment of oil products grew by 32.8%, to 166,700 tons.
Handling of Ro-Ro cargo fell by 13%, to 11,762 units, but container throughput grew by 10%, to 1,131 TEUs.
In the reporting period, the port serviced 8,614 passengers, down by 10%.
