Following a request from Latvia’s Transport Ministry, airBaltic airline will perform flights to and from Amsterdam on May 11 and 12 to carry employed persons back to Latvia and ensure other employed persons are able to reach their workplaces in other EU member states.
Each flight will carry up to 141 passengers, the airline reports.
Passengers arriving from territories affected by the coronavirus have to undergo compulsory 14-day self-isolation.
On April 7, the government decided to extend the state of emergency, travel restrictions and shutdown of international passenger services to limit the spread of the virus. All previously scheduled passenger transports have been put on hold. This includes flights from Estonia and Lithuania.
Currently airBaltic continues offering customers charter flights and freight flights. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
