The state budget of Ukraine in 2019 was implemented with a deficit of UAH 78.050 billion ($3.14 billion), up by 32% YoY, the State Treasury Service of Ukraine reported on its website.
The consolidated budget saw a deficit of UAH 84 billion ($3.41 billion), the report said, up by 24%.
The 2019 state budget provided for revenues in the amount of UAH 1.026 trillion and expenses – at UAH 1.112 trillion, with the deficit ceiling set at UAH 89.989 billion.
In October 2019, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the 2019 budget, cutting the revenue plan by UAH 20 billion and offsetting the cut with a reduced public debt-servicing plan. Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova on December 20, 2019 said that the state budget of Ukraine for 2019 would not meet revenue targets, which forced the Cabinet to sever financing in certain expenses.
