JSC Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) and German rail operator Deutsche Bahn will sign a memorandum of cooperation at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“A large-scale cooperation project between Ukrzaliznytsia and Deutsche Bahn, German’s largest rail operator, is being prepared. It does not imply privatization or concession. It means involving German experts, experience, management and technology solutions,” Oleksandr Skichko, the Chairman of the rail transport subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, posted on Facebook.
He added that a memorandum of cooperation would be signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to Skichko, such cooperation will give the Ukrainian rail a “second wind” and “help to work its way out of the state of degradation in which it is now.”
He mentioned that the situation in the rail sector would not change overnight.
“Much work should be done and cooperation with the Germans will be a powerful basis for change,” the MP emphasized. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
