In 2019 the Freeport of Riga handled 32,762,200 tons of cargo, down by 10.1% YoY.
Transshipment of coal fell by 27.2%, to 10,357,700 tons, and oil products – by 7.2%, to 3,791,300 tons, while wood pellets grew by 20.4%, to 1,133,400 tons, and ore – by 29.9%, to 646,200 tons.
The port’s container throughput declined by 0.5%, to 466,890 TEUs.
In the reporting period passenger turnover decreased by 0.2%, to 868,563 people, including 69,207 cruise passengers (-7.5%). (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
