About EUR 3.7 billion was invested in renewable energy capacities in Ukraine in 2019, according to the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
“In 2019 about EUR 3.7 billion was invested in record high 4,500 MW of renewable energy capacities in Ukraine,” reads the statement.
According to the data provided by the agency as of January 1, the following new renewable energy facilities were installed in 2019: solar power plants with a total capacity of 3,537 MW; solar power plants at private households (by the end of the year, considering the development rate) – 243 MW; wind power plants – 637 MW; biomass/biogas plants- 73 MW; mini hydropower facilities – 15 MW.
“Due to the projects implemented in 2019, the total capacity of green electricity in Ukraine grew 3-fold, to 6.8 GW,” reads the report. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
