For Latvian train company AS Pasazieru vilciens to buy 32 new electric trains, a contract with the Czech manufacturer Skoda vagonka has entered into force when the latter submitted a collateral security for the implementation of the contract, said a representative of the Latvian firm.
Agnese Licite from Pasazieru vilciens said that now Skoda vagonka would prepare and submit for harmonization a plan of the works. After both parties agree on its content, Pasazieru vilciens will make the first advance payment.
The contract on buying 32 new electric trains for a total of 241,889 million euros was signed on July 30.
“The supplier of trains will do its work, while experts from Pasazieru vilciens will continuously monitor the work so that the production process is carried out with quality, according to the technical specification and so that the terms of contract implementation are adhered to,” commented Rodzers Janis Grigulis, the board chairman of Pasazieru vilciens.
