Some 86.2% of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises were profitable in 2018, including all 22 large agricultural enterprises, Director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics Yuriy Lupenko has said.
“Last year 86.2% of agricultural enterprises posted profits. At the same time, all 22 large agricultural enterprises were profitable, and they secured 11.9% of the industry’s profit,” the institute’s press service quoted Lupenko as saying.
According to him, this figure has become the highest among all types of economic activity. In general, the share of profitable enterprises among Ukrainian companies in 2018 was 74.3%.
Lupenko also said that the financial result before taxation of enterprises of agriculture, forestry and fisheries for 2018 was UAH 67.9 billion. Unprofitable enterprises lost UAH 26.4 billion last year, whereas profitable ones received UAH 94.3 billion. Higher figures were recorded only in the industry (UAH 278 billion), trade (UAH 177.6 billion) and financial and insurance activities (UAH 111.9 billion). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
