Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) adopted a decision to launch direct flights from Kyiv to Oslo from October 26, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Norway has reported.
“Direct air travel between Ukraine and Norway has been one of the priority goals on the agenda of the Ukrainian-Norwegian dialogue, and its important result is the announcement by the reputable multinational company Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to open a new direct route between Kyiv and Oslo in October 2019,” Ukraine’s Ambassador to Norway Vyacheslav Yatsiuk said on May 21.
The route between Kyiv and Oslo will have three flights a week with departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Ukrainian ambassador expects that the future direct flight between Kyiv and Oslo will contribute to further enhancement of economic cooperation, as well as exchanges in other spheres between the two countries.
“The existing visa-free regime between Ukraine and Norway will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the future direct flight Kyiv-Oslo,” he noted.
The Ukrainian diplomat expressed special gratitude to the leadership of Avinor, operator of the civil airports in Norway, and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) for their decision to use the official Ukrainian spelling of the capital of Ukraine – Kyiv – in the name of the new route.
