Georgia exported about 26 million bottles of wine to 38 countries in January-April, up by 4% YoY, announced the Georgian National Wine Agency.
In the reporting period Georgia generated $63.2 million from the sale of wine abroad, up by 7%.
Export of Georgian wine increased to the United States – 219,713 bottles (+108%), Israel – 106,572 bottles (+102%), Belarus – 604,076 bottles (+88%), France – 43,938 bottles (+81%), Mongolia – 106,452 bottles (+72%), Canada – 66,960 bottles (+70%), the Netherlands – 40,930 bottles (+37%), China – 2,192,025 bottles (+22%), Poland – 1,173,850 bottles (+16%), Estonia – 214,502 bottles (+15%), Lithuania – 179,370 bottles (+4%) and Russia – 16,850,331 bottles (+4%).
In January-April, 179 companies exported wine, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported 8.4 million bottles of Georgian brandy (+67%) and 140,000 bottles of Chacha (+68%) in Q1. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
