Investments from 32 countries were attracted in the economy of Volyn region in 2018, the press service of the Volyn Regional State Administration reported.
“32 countries invested in the economy of Volyn region in 2018. The main ones were Poland, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia and Cyprus, with direct investments totaling 92.1% of the overall amount,” reads the report.
The largest investments came from Cyprus – $135.5 million, and Poland – $36 million, the state administration reported.
Also, exports of goods from Volyn region in 2018 amounted to $720.1 million, and imports – $1.368 billion. Compared to 2017, the figures grew by 4.5% and 2.5%, respectively.
In particular, Volyn region has increased exports of goods to the countries of the European Union by 6.7%, or by $571.2 million in equivalent. At present exports to the EU countries from the region make up 79.3% of total exports. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
