Estonian state-owned cargo rail operator AS EVR Cargo and railway worker and railroad engineer trade unions have signed a one-year extension of their collective agreement.
“I thank trade union chairmen Oleg Tsubarov and Raivo Romm as well as representatives for their contributions to the success of collective agreement extension talks,” EVR Cargo CEO Raul Toomsalu said in a press release.
Toomsalu also thanked the employees for the company’s successful year.
The collective agreement was first signed with the Estonian Railwaymen’s Trade Union in 2014 and the Estonian Locomotive Workers’ Trade Union in 2016.
The cargo rail operator is expecting to finish 2017 at a loss due to low goods volumes during the first three quarters of 2017 as well as a delayed decision to rent out railcars, the company said in December 2017.
