Total trade turnover of Uzbekistan with foreign countries rose by 16.6% and amounted to more than $22 billion in ten months of 2017.
The positive dynamics is also observed in trade with Central Asian countries, according to the data of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that great work had been done in the foreign policy of Uzbekistan in a short period of time.
During the period, foreign policy and foreign economic activity of the country grew noticeably. Thus, 22 visits were paid at the highest level during the year, and meetings were held with the leaders of more than 60 states and international structures.
About 400 documents were signed, including 110 international agreements – 21 international, 48 intergovernmental and 41 interdepartmental agreements, as well as 61 documents signed between institutions and regions.
The visits of the president of Uzbekistan to China, Russia, Turkey, the United States and the South Korea were of historical significance.
Forty-one “road maps” have been approved for the development and further expansion of trade, economic, investment, technological, financial and technical, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in order to implement bilateral agreements unconditionally.
Moreover, dialogue with international organizations (UN, SCO, CIS, OIC and others) became even more productive. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
