The volume of trade turnover between Ukraine and Korea is expected to reach over $800 million this year and $1 billion next year, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Mr. Lee Yang-goo stated at a press conference on October 19.
“In the first half of the year, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Korea increased by more than 20%. We expect that the trade will reach $800 million by the end of the year,” the ambassador said.
The ambassador expresses hope that the volume of bilateral turnover will grow, because the economy of Ukraine is recovering, so the interest of Korean investors in Ukraine will grow.
In turn, State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Andriy Zayats notes that if the growth rates of trade turnover between Ukraine and Korea in the second half of the year remain at the same level, then it is possible to reach the trade turnover of $810-815 million by the end of the year.
