In 2016-2017 MY, Ukraine increased the supply volumes of flour products to African countries to 17.5% of the general exports, as opposed to the share at 8% in 2015-2016 MY.
The similar situation developed with flour supplies to the Middle Eastern countries – 25.8% of the general exports in the season-2016-2017, against 18% in the previous season, the Director of Production operations department at Agrarian Fund PJSC, Sergei Sakirkin declared during his report on September 28 within frames of “Grain Processors Forum – 2017”.
At the same time, last season the United Kingdom became the major customer of Ukrainian flour, and imported 148 thousand tons of the product. Also, it is worth noting that the country mainly resold the purchased volumes to other countries, Sakirkin said.
Moreover, last MY North Korea reduced its purchasing share of Ukrainian flour to 39%, while in 2015-2016 MY the country imported almost half of flour volumes supplied from Ukraine. But these are positive developments in terms of the risks of trading with the country, concluded Sakirkin. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
