In January-June the port of Ventspils handled 12.4 million tons of cargo, up by 23% YoY. According to the port authority, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 22%.
In the reporting period, Kalija parks handled 175,000 tons.
The number of passenger carried by Ventspils- Nynashamn line grew by 30%, to 21,700 passengers.
Ventspils port is located near Venta river. There are terminals for loading and unloading of crude and oil products, liquid chemicals and fertilizers, metal and coal, timber and fish, containers and Ro-Ro trailers.
