Agrarians of Ukraine started planting buckwheat. As of May 5, the planted areas reached 18 thousand ha, or 13% of the plan, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine declared.
Also, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 5.497 million ha, or 76% of the forecast, down by 343 thousand ha YoY.
In particular, the planted areas under early crops reached 2.297 million ha (98%), including spring wheat – 167 thousand ha (94% of the forecast), spring barley – 1.555 million ha (95%), oats – 197 thousand ha (95%), millet – 11 thousand ha (14%). As of the reporting date, Ukraine has already completed the planting campaign of peas with areas reaching 378 thousand ha (114%).
In addition, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 3.122 million ha (69%).
Also, agrarians continued planting oilseed crops: sunflower seed areas reached 3.775 million ha (70%), and soybeans – 739 thousand ha (41%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
