Clothing for children and adolescents in the Eurasian Economic Union will become safer. Corresponding amendments to the technical regulations of the union were approved by the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
It is noted that tougher requirements for the quality of fabrics used for making children’s clothes have been set. In particular, the division of clothing for children and adolescents into the second and third layers was specified.
Costumes, including school uniform, were assigned to the second layer if the lining was missing or occupied less than 40% of the top of the product, and to the third layer- if it took less than 40%.
“This refinement is significant considering more stringent safety requirements for second-layer clothing compared to the clothes of the third one. For example, for the age group of children from 7 to 14 years, increased hygroscopicity of the second-layer clothing was established,” the commission explained.
It is noted that manufacturers will be able to use one type of clothing for several age groups. In addition, it will be possible to use modern artificial materials for various types of children’s shoes. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
