Last year, Klaipeda port registered a new record cargo transshipment-wise, becoming the leader among Baltic States, according to data published by the port.
In 2016, Klaipeda port secured 40.14 million tons of cargoes, up by 4.2% YoY. Cargo transshipment at Riga port declined by 7.5% last year (37.07 million tons). Ventspils port’s turnover declined by 16.5% to 18.81 million tons. Liepaja port, on the other hand, experienced a 1.2% increase in the volume of transshipped cargo volumes, which means 5.68 million tons more than a year before.
Tallinn port’s transshipment volumes were 10.3% lower YoY (20.12 million). Butinge oil terminal transshipped 9.31 million tons of oil last year, up by 7.3% YoY. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
