Production of passenger cars in Ukraine in 2016, according to preliminary data from the Ukrautoprom association, decreased by 23.2% YoY, to 4,340 units.
The result of the year in the passenger segment was formed by two manufacturers: PJSC Eurocar and Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ).
At the same time, Eurocar increased production of Skoda cars by almost 94%, to 3,937 units, while ZAZ reduced production by 89%, to 403 cars.
In December 2016, Eurocar produced 500 cars, increasing output by 4.8% MoM and doubled YoY, while ZAZ produced only 40 passenger cars, down by 86.7% and 96.2% respectively.
In view of the December 2016 figures, Ukraine produced 540 cars, down by 58.2% YoY and by 30.5% MoM.
According to the association, bus production in Ukraine in 2016 decreased by 64.2%, to 321 units, while the data of commercial vehicle production are incorrect in view of the fact that PJSC AvtoKrAZ over the last five months of the year had not provided data on output.
