Representatives of political, business and expert circles have discussed the progress of Ukrainian energy reforms, the role of new strategic partnership in this area and priorities for 2017 at an international high-level conference on the new EU-Ukraine strategic partnership in energy and the role of business in this process in Brussels.
“Having signed the memorandum on strategic partnership, we defined priorities for 2017. The first one is the completion of the gas sector reform”, Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic said.
According to him, the second priority is the electricity sector reform, within which Europe expects the adoption of new legislation in the country.
“The third priority is increasing energy efficiency in Ukraine”, Sefcovic said, noting that it was very important in the near future to adopt the law on energy efficiency within this process. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
