PJSC Kriukov Car Building Works (KCBW, Poltava region) and PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia intend to cooperate in production and modernization of rolling stock for Ukrainian railways as the parties have signed a corresponding memorandum.
According to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, the document was signed by KCBW head Volodymyr Prykhodko and Ukrzaliznytsia chairman Wojciech Balczun, as well as member of the Ukrzaliznytsia board Ireneusz Wasilewski.
The memorandum provides for cooperation in production and upgrading freight wagons, passenger cars with locomotive traction, interregional and suburban electric trains and diesel trains, freight and passenger electric locomotives, spare parts for rolling stock.
The document foresees joint work on technologies to create and modernize rolling stock, the issue of financing purchases, as well as a possible maximum localization of production of these goods in Ukraine. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
